Barrichello, Massa Would Agree to Team Orders

Formula One veteran Rubens Barrichello and his countryman Felipe Massa are two of the drivers who have been the victims of team tactics at past and present tenses respectively. However, both agree that should Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel know that there is no chance in the world to grab the world title this year – no matter if he figures this out in the last lap of the Abu Dhabi finale – he should let his teammate Mark Webber pass for victory and secure his first world title.

“My personal opinion is that the Red Bull drivers will fight to the end, because they both have a chance to become champion,” said Massa, according to Italy's Tuttosport. The Brazilian had to move aside in the German Grand Prix this year and let his teammate Fernando Alonso take all the glory, as suggested in his years from the Ferrari garage.

“But if at the end Sebastian is first and Mark is second, I'm sure they will swap places. If not, they would give the title to another team. But you should ask them, not me,” he added.

Barrichello also spoke favorable about a potential team order situation at Red Bull, even though that expression was practically launched in modern Formula One after his lieutenant years for Michael Schumacher at Ferrari.

“I have always been against team orders. But if someone has no more mathematical chances in the last moment but the other one (the teammate) does, then it is definitely better for the team. So I see nothing wrong if that happens in the last lap,” added the Williams driver.

Asked continuously about it by the international media present in Abu Dhabi, Vettel finally hinted that he would help Webber if the situation would require it.

“It would not take a genius to know what to do,” the 23-year-old German was quoted by the Spanish media.
