Barrichello Launches Public Attack on Brawn GP

Rubens Barrichello has had enough of team orders and mechanic-related mistakes this season, and he let it all out after his disappointing finish in the German Grand Prix, at the Nurburgring. The Brazilian pointed some clear fingers at his team for “helping” him lose the race today, while revealing he doesn’t feel like talking to anybody within the team for the time being.

The F1 veteran lost some valuable seconds at the second pit stop due to some problems with the fuel rig – causing him to lose 1st place to Mark Webber – while later losing one more position to teammate Jenson Button after the 3rd pit stop. He eventually had to settle for 6th place at the finish line.

It was a good show from the team on how to lose a race today. I'm terribly upset with the way things went. I did all I had to do. I went first on the first corner and then they made me lose the race,” said an angry Barrichello in a post-race interview with British broadcaster BBC.

If it is really what's going on, we're going to end up losing both championships. I feel sorry for myself, the team. To be very honest, I wish I could get on the plane and go home. I don't want to talk to anyone in the team. It will be all 'bla bla bla' and I don't want to hear that,” added the Brazilian.

Due to his poor finish in Germany, Barrichello dropped no less than 2 positions in the overall classification, as he is now 4th overall, behind Red Bull’s duo Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber. And his public attack on his team for what happened at the Ring is reason for us to believe that he’ll continue to drop in the standings, as he’ll likely benefit from little support from Ross Brawn in the remaining rounds of the 2009 season.
