Stellantis, the new automaker formed through the merger of PSA and FCA, has a few star models making a splash onto the U.S. market right now. Among them, the most powerful SUVs and trucks in America – the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat and the Ram TRX – have just reached a couple of interesting milestones.
Stellantis North America announced it recently closed the order books for the 2021 Durango SRT Hellcat, with the allotted production fully sold out in just a few weeks. Meanwhile, the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX, which has been in production at the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant (SHAP) since December, aims to make a difference for veterans and their families.
That’s because Ram and Barrett-Jackson came to a cool agreement. The automaker is offering through the auction company the very first 2021 Ram TRX it has produced (VIN 001 of 702). It will be on sale at no reserve during the upcoming Scottsdale event taking place in March.
Better yet, both companies will direct all the proceeds from the sale of “the quickest, fastest and most powerful truck ever” towards the United Way for Southeastern Michigan’s 2-1-1 helpline, which is helping both veterans and their families.
Naturally, the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX VIN 001 has been dressed in full Launch Edition attire adorned with the exclusive Anvil Gray exterior shade. It also features a “one-of-a-kind VIN 001 Authentication Kit,” among others.
Still featured with a “preview” status, the TRX doesn’t come with an assigned lot yet – nor does the auction company provide any kind of pricing estimate. The wait to find out if the first-ever TRX produced by Ram will take down a sales record won’t be long, though.
According to information provided by the companies, the sale of the truck will take place on Friday, March 26th, at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction.
“When Ram 1500 TRX VIN 001 rolled off the assembly line last month, it instantly became an incredibly exciting one-of-a-kind collectible truck that enthusiasts will clamor for. More importantly, we expect (…) to raise significant funds that will go directly to the United Way helpline to provide services to veterans and their families,” explained Mike Koval Jr., Ram Brand Chief Executive Officer - Stellantis.
