We know that the Ford Mustang and the Chevrolet Camaro are set to receive important changes for 2015, but nothing has been heard about the third player of this game, the Dodge Challenger. Untill now that is - it seems that Chrysler might replace the iconic model with another one, swapping the Charger with another msucle car icon, the Barracuda, as Chrysler Design Boss Ralph Gilles told Motor Trend.
The move, which  would allow the car to come with a boost in terms of both performance and efficiency, as it could use a new rear-wheel driver platform that would allow it to come with a bit more compact dimensions. We’ll remind you that the current Challenger is so large due to the fact that it uses the platfrom of the previous generation Chrysler 300 (actaully, this comes from an older Mercedes E-Class).

Of course, the Plymouth brand, the one that hosted the original Barracuda, is now dead, so we’ll have to see how Chrysler finds a way around this.
