Looking for old classic cars hidden in the rough is like mining for gold. You've hit the mother lode if you stumble upon a hidden barn full of classics. Tom Cotter of Hagerty recently traveled to Elkton, Virginia, to see a classic builder and Chevy enthusiast, Nick, who owns an eccentric collection of classic cars.
Once inside the warehouse, Nick's true nature as a Chevy enthusiast is revealed. His shop doesn't have a couple of old classics undergoing restoration but a collection of classic gems. Cotter first checks out an unrestored big-block 1967 Chevrolet Caprice with a 396 emblem.

It's been running for 45 years. The original owner used it as a daily driver until 2012, when Nick acquired it. It's had minor repairs over the years. Besides the brakes, Nick assures the crew they could drive it out of the shade.

There's also a 1952 Chevy sedan without an engine. He also has a collection of two 1955 Chevy convertibles, a 1956 Convertible and a 1957 convertible. One of the convertibles is buried under the rubble of Tri-Five Chevy car parts and boxes.

"They are just what I grew up around, and I've always liked them. My dad's a 55 guy, my brother's a 57 guy, and I've always been a 56 guy, so it just kind of worked," Nick revealed.

On the other side of the warehouse, Cotter stumbles upon a Nash Metropolitan. Nick says he got it for his daughter, who lost interest in it, and he'll probably sell it later.

That's not all. Behind that section of the warehouse is a 1957 Chevy four-door drag car. Outside, there's a 1966 Lincoln Continental he got for a friend. It's rusted on the exterior, with a nasty interior, but his friend just wants to get it running as-is.

There are tons of other classics in the parking lot, including a grounded Corvair, a 1950s Chevy funeral flower car, vintage VWs, and a peculiar 1930s Dodge.

We recommend you watch the video below and catch the detailed conversations between the two enthusiasts as they check out other rare (but restored) classic Chevy gems.
