Mr Brian Smith bought the Mini Cooper in 1966 from Stringers Garage in Portsmouth, Hampshire and has done a little under 23,000 miles (37,000 km) with it, before getting sick and parked it in the garage back in the summer of 1976.

Since then, the Mini hasn’t seen the sunlight. That changed after Mr Smith died recently and his family wanted to sell his house. They stumbled across the vehicle locked in the garage and as there are no car enthusiasts in the family, they’ve decided to sell the little piece of history.

As you can imagine, the 1966 Mini Cooper doesn’t start and it will need some maintenance work before driving it. The car will be auctioned by Charterhouse in Sherborne, Dorset on November 4th. The family is looking forward to get about £12,000 (€14,210) on the car.
