Bang and Olufsen BeoSound System for the DB9

The Aston Martin DB9 will get a sound boost, as the British car manufacturer and the Danish sound guru joined forces to create an exclusive audio system for the DB9. Called BeoSound DB9, the system is praised by the two companies as being "perfectly matched to the DB9, both acoustically and physically."

“The BeoSound DB9 system demonstrates that consistent commitment to high-tech innovation and traditional craftsmanship skills which is a hallmark of both Aston Martin and Bang & Olufsen,” said Bang and Olufsen CEO Karl Kristian Hvidt Nielsen.

The BeoSound DB9 system incorporates proprietary ICEpower technology; a fusion of high output power and hi-fi sound quality in an ultra-compact design. The motorized tweeter units make use of Bang and Olufsen automatically operated ALT (Acoustic Lensechnology), with their placement enabling 180 degrees horizontal dispersion of high frequency sounds.

The system has been acoustically tuned for the DB9 Bang and Olufsen’s Digital Signal Processing (DSP) unit, which stage-manages the musical performance of the thirteen individual loudspeakers. The DSP also provides dynamic modeling that adapts automatically to changing road and noise conditions. In addition, the BeoSound fitted to the DB9 Volante has been developed to suit the different acoustic characteristics of the convertible, whether open or closed.

“Aston Martin and Bang & Olufsen have achieved a reputation as leaders in both design and performance through constant innovation. We are proud that BeoSound DB9 continues a strong tradition of technology, design and artistry,” Ulrich Bez, Aston Martin’s CEO.

BeoSound is already available for order, as an option, for both the DB9 Coupe and the DB9 Volante.
