Several years ago it would have been rather weird hearing an European or north American rider craving for an Indian-made motorcycle, but times are definitely a-changing. Bajaj introduced the CS400 and SS400 bikes at the Auto Expo and they are smoking hot.
One of the great things about the Indian motorcycle industry is that things are really on the move and the displacement of modern bikes is getting bigger.

While most of the two-wheelers in this market are in the under-200cc class, seeing new, bold 400cc-ish machines is truly heartening.

Both the Pulsar CS400 and the SS400 are powered by engines derived from the 375cc of the KTM 390 Duke, so we're in for quite a fun ride. The liquid-cooled singles are mated to 6-speed transmissions.

Only the CS400 has USD forks, but both bikes are loaded with rear monoshock suspensions. ABS is standard on both bikes, just like full disc brakes.

While the CS400 is a more traditional road bike, with ample bodywork, the SS400 is a more radical sporty beast, with an edgier design and a dash of R1 DNA as far as the front fairing is concerned.

With massive KTM involvement in the new Bajaj line-up, we might even get to see these bikes in the Western markets, too. And with the price being also on the lower side, the middleweight class fray will surely become a more interesting one.
