Bahrain's Ekanoo Racing Sets Nissan GT-R And Porsche 911 Turbo 1/4-Mile Records

To be more precise, the motorsport crew now holds the quarter-mile world records for both the R35 GT-R and the 991 Neunelfer. The team set the new records earlier this week and we're here to get into the details of their adventures.

Since the Godzilla episode is the more aggressive drag strip stint, we'll start with this one. As those of you following our GT-R stories know, Ekanoo Racing had set new R35 1,320-feet records back in January and February, so it was obviously time for a new one - wonder what the US tuners that fight for the GT-R record think of this.

The Nissan managed to deliver a 7.168s run (versus the previous record of 7.265s) at 209 mph and here's what the team had to say about the feat - spoiler alert: we'll get to see new record-breaking attempts in the future: "The run began with a new personal best 60 foot of 1.208. Our team has worked overtime on new developments for this car in the offseason and we are just now scratching the surface of what this new setup is capable of, stay tuned."

Moving to the Neunelfer part of the story

We have to explain this is an area where Ekanoo Racing also beat its own record for the quickest (ET) and fastest (trap speed) 991-generation twin-turbo 911.

We're talking about a 991.2 Turbo S, but this is a supercar that comes in complete street trim, so the quarter-mile run isn't as violent as that of the GT-R. Figures? Here you go: 9.332s at 152 mph.

And here are the crew's plans for their Zuffenhausen machine: "We've increased our trap speed by 7 mph since last season and will keep turning the wick up in hopes of an 8-second time slip in this amazing 991 in full street trim,"
