Regardless of the airline company you favor, chances are you’ve had some kind of displeasure in terms of the way your baggage has been handled. If not, at least you wished it were treated with a bit more consideration when thrown on the conveyor belt.
Ephraim Sibeko, an employee at Lanseria International Airport in South Africa, knows this is the most common gripe with fliers and he’s doing whatever he can to help them out. He actually goes beyond the call of duty to make sure that he makes a difference.

Video of the baggage handler has been shared on social media by user Janine Brand about 3 weeks ago, but it’s just now going viral. The Internet is falling in love with Ephraim because he’s restoring people’s faith in humanity – and especially in airline employees.

You can see it at the bottom of the page. Ephraim doesn’t just place each piece of luggage on the conveyor belt, he actually makes the effort to turn all of them with the handle outward. This way, all passengers have to do is grab their bag when they see it and be on their way.

Again, if you’ve been around an airport at least a couple of times, you know very well this isn’t something that happens on the regular. Not free of charge, either way.

“The guys that usually stand there to receive or check the bags either just stand and watch or grab and chuck to make space on the conveyor belt. He turns every single bag so that the handle of the suitcase is facing forward. All you do is grab and go,” Brand writes.

“Next time you travel through Lanseria Airport and you come across Ephraim, stop, thank and tip him, because nowhere in the world will you ever receive first class service like that,” she adds. “Unless you pay for the service.”

So here’s to Ephraim, the hero we needed but probably don’t deserve.
