Because there aren’t that many opportunities to talk about videos with cars and cats in them, here’s one that’s making the rounds right now, to the delight of Internauts: a cat apparently doing its workout routine under a parked car.
The video was shot in China, the Daily Mail says, but there’s not much else known about it. Not that we need any more details once we’ve seen it: what we’re clearly dealing with here is a badass cat that shuns regular sit-ups in favor of those performed under parked cars. The reason for that remains a mystery, but they could be a tad more effective than regular sit-ups, if the cat is applying pressure with its hind legs, flexing those lower abs that are harder to tone up.

The video has gone viral, sparking a flurry of comments, some funnier than others. “Must be ab day,” “training to take on a lion,” “toughening up to kick some other cat’s butt” remain the most frequent jokes based on the footage. “What’s my excuse today?” is also quite common with commenters, as was to be expected.

Of course, as is the case with most videos on the world wide web, reality isn’t even half as funny as what it appears to be on film. Bummer, we know. In reality, this cat has simply found a nice place in which to lick its tummy, and that’s exactly what it’s doing. To put it simply, this is a clear case of cats being cats.

Sure, from a distance, it looks as if this pussy is doing push-ups while using the car for increased difficulty. This would probably be the last step cats will take before taking over the world, so we’d better hope this one is only doing some hilarious-looking grooming. Or else.
