The Back to The Future series has managed to capture the imaginations of millions of people, both around the official release of the first movie in the series (in 1985), as well as many years after. It is still appreciated today, and so much so, that people have begun taking advantage of the numerous possibilities through which they could relive the movie experience first hand, in a simulated 3D environment.
Grand Theft Auto IV, with its excellent physics engine and extreme sandbox experience is the perfect platform through which one can see and control the action from a third person perspective. The modder has recreated the DeLorean in minute detail, with an animated flux capacitor, gullwing doors and a date setting device.
However, the fanatical modding doesn’t end there, as the man behind the mod has also made the special DeLorean able to ‘travel back in time’. What this means is that when you accelerate and reach the familiar 88 mph speed, the car will disappear for a few seconds and reappear further away - you won’t travel to another time, but instead of crashing into something, you floor the throttle and hope to reach 88 mph before the obstacle.
We must admit that we had a lot of fun just watching the video and we figure that the mod itself is a blast to play, so if you own GTA4, but are a bit bored with it, download this mod and travel ‘back to the future’.
