British carmaker Briggs Automotive Company (BAC), which gave us its Mono one year ago, recently announced that the road-legal, single-seater car has managed to win the supercar class at this year’s Cholmondeley Pageant of Power (June 15-17).
The BAC Mono managed to beat vehicles such as Lamborghini Gallardo, Nissan GT-R, Ferrari 458, Radical SR3 SL, Porsche Carrera, Ariel Atom V8 and others, also registering the second best time overall. It was only outrun by the Caterham SP/300.R, but this is a race car running on slick tires, whereas the BAC uses street legal Kumho V70A rubber.
“The track conditions were tricky for much of the weekend, but our chosen driver – Blancpain Endurance Series racer Duncan Tappy – took to the Mono like a duck to water. We will definitely be back to challenge for outright victory next year, for which we plan to have some slicks of our own; courtesy of our tyre supplier Kumho, who has been involved with the Mono project since day one,” said BAC Director Neill Briggs.
You can find out more about the BAC Mono on the vehicle’s official website.
