If the idea of having a V8-powered Ariel Atom like everybody else who’s racing at Laguna Seca doesn’t sound that attractive, we have something cooler and potentially more exclusive to show you. This is the BAC Mono, which is now coming to the states in limited numbers.
The car will be imported by Sector111 LLC, a company from sunny California that was named exclusive US importer. But only about 12 or so cars will be brought over annually, with price set at about $130,000 per car.

For that kind of money, you get 2.3-liter Cosworth rated at 280 horsepower, which is quite a lot for a car weighing 540 kg.

"USA is a hugely important market and represents a significant percentage of our export volume," said BAC Director, Neill Briggs. "With their experience and extensive knowledge of the low volume sports car market, we are delighted to announce that Mono will be available through our partner Sector111.”

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
