Babes Ride Out, a Story of Women on Bikes

We know that some of the males who ride are misogynist enough to claim that women can't make good motorcyclists, but this 15-minute-long documentary might change their mind. At least for some of them.
Babes Ride Out is the brainchild of Ashmore Ellis and Anya Violet, who teamed up with GoPro Production Artists Tina Marchman and Annemarie Hennes to document a 500-strong all-women motorcycle rally in Joshua Tree, California.

The video is more than a simple documentary, it is a very good incentive for the ladies who dream about taking to riding a motorcycle, but who, for various reasons, have not done so yet.

The Babes Ride Out meeting is supposed to be a friendly environment for riding ladies, offering them the opportunity to come together and share their experiences, both good and bad, making the community stronger and helping it grow.

Babes Ride Out could be the modern-day version of what the marketing specialists are pushing onto the customer pool, but the video shows more than milk and honey, and is a rather good picture of what being a woman and riding a motorcycle is like in real life.

Now, there's the riding gear aspect, and some of the replies this video generated are polite, considerate, yet nevertheless true. Riding a bike wearing yoga pants, fancy boots and a tank top may not be the best way to introduce motorcycling to the masses.

We, of course, strongly believe that riders can choose to wear protective gear or not. However, we also believe that trying to show non-riding people how cool being on two wheels is without any consideration for personal safety is not the best move. And when it comes to meeting the scorching asphalt at 50 mph or more while wearing a t-shirt, we can hardly believe the "freedom of expression and personal liberty" blabber.

All in all, a very cool video well-worth watching and showing to others!
