The German tuning company B&B offers a technical tuning kit for the top of the range version of the Volkswagen Scirocco.

The tuning house has developed a three-stage program that enables the 265 hp turbocharged 2.0 liter unit on the Scirocco R to deliver 310, 324 or 362 hp.

The top version of the tuned creation shaves 0.8 second off the standard car’s 0 to 100 km/h sprint time, managing to complete this in 4.9 seconds. While the production Scirocco R has an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h), B&B’s best effort pushes the car to 175 mph (280 km/h).

The 362 hp incarnation of the Scirocco uses an upgraded turbocharger, a high performance cooling system, a sport exhaust system featuring sport catalytic converters and, of course, an ECU remap.

In order to cope with the new power wave, the B&B Scirocco R uses a new suspension system that brings it closer to the ground by 30 mm. The car’s stopping power is provided by an enhanced braking system. The German hatch now rides on bespoke rims that feature a double spoke design and can be ordered in a 19 or 20 inch size.

B&B and other tuners who like to take factory tuned VWs, like the Scirocco R, and play with them even more will fortunately have plenty of work to do in the future, as the German carmaker recently announced that it has established a performance-dedicated division that will handle all its future performance-orientated products, the Volkswagen R Gmbh. This is a team of 350 people that make VW magic happen, working in a Wolfsburg facility.
