Aznom Fiat 500 Motore Centrale Debuts at Top Marques

The Top Marques car show in Monaco represents a world stage for sportscar debuts and Italian automotive tuner Aznom couldn’t miss the opportunity to showcase their latest creation.

The Aznom Fiat 500 Motore Centrale made its debut at the Top Marques car show introducing some interesting characteristics. Unlike other Fiat 500 models that feature a front-engine and front-wheel drive layout, the Aznom Fiat 500 has an interesting characteristic with its mid-engine and rear-wheel drive displacement.

This seems to take us back to the ‘80s where the old Renault 5 Turbo had exactly the same characteristics, mid-engine and rear-wheel drive. This technological solution promises to be a recipe for fun and we bet the Aznom 500 has some interesting driving capabilities.

The engine is the 1.4 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine from the Fiat 500 Abarth with the only difference being the fact that Aznom mounted the engine in the rear compartment thus creating a mid-engine mini car.

Transmission is a 5-speed manual that manages to cope with the 179kW (240 hp) produced by the engine and 243 lb-ft (330 Nm) of torque. It may not seem much, but let's not forget that these figures are referring to a mini car that weighs just 2,315 pounds (1,050 kg). According to Aznom, it takes just 4.7 seconds to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) from a standing start, while maximum speed will be 152 mph (245 km/h).

The Aznom 500 incorporates modifications like coilover strut front suspension and adjustable A-arm rear suspension with Bilstein shocks as well as ventilated disc brakes for the front and four-piston calipers for all wheels.
