Aventurine Green Metallic 2020 Porsche 911 Shows Off Its New Color

Porsche has just dropped the 992 incarnation of the 911 at the Los Angeles Auto Show, but the American venue doesn't allow us to fully enjoy the visual charms of the Neunelfer. To achieve that goal, we need to head over to the official configurator and play with the colors.

We've chosen to highlight one of the metallic hues, namely Aventurine Green Metallic, since this is new for the 992. For now, all we can do is check it out in the configurator images above, but we can't wait to see the thing in the real world.

This dark green is a wellcome addition to the standard color range (you don't have to turn to Paint To Sample when seeking it) and we can't help but wonder how this compares to the homonimous shade used on the 993 - by the way, the 992 does remind us of the 993 more than of any other previous generation.

However, since some of you prefer lighter colors, we also added the images of a Special Color to the gallery above. We're refering to Lizzard Green, which happens to be the launch hue for the 991.2 GT3 RS.

We also need to mention Enzian Blue Metallic, which replaces Sapphire Blue Metallic and is new for the 992, as well as the fact that Rhodium Silver Metallic has been ditched in favor of Dolomite Silver Metallic. And you can play with these splendid shades in the configurator.

Speaking of the eight-gen Neunelfer matters that go beyond the Carrera (4)S we can currently enjoy, we'll remind you that Zuffenhausen engineers are currently out there testing the 2020 911 GT3 and 2020 911 Turbo.

Both specials are expected to land next year, but not before the standard (think: non-S) Carrera comes to the market.

And we're looking forward to the driving impressions of the 2020 Porsche 911. After all, the fact that it is 5 seconds quicker around the Nurburgring compared to its predecessor means it can lap the Green Hell in under 7:25 (Carrera 4S), which makes it as quick as a 991.1 GT3.
