Once in a blue moon, our attention is caught by the scruff of the neck by up-and-coming artists who bring new life to the automotive world. On this occasion, we decided to tell you about car photographer Blair Bunting, a chap that doesn’t only shoot but masterfully edits pics himself.
A Nikon Ambassador in the US and the winner of three photography awards from Communication Arts, Luerzer’s Archive and Graphis, Blair’s career started when his father gave him a 1972 Nikon F camera. Though Bunting presents himself as a “commercial photographer” on his official Facebook page, there is more than meets the eye.

As you can see in the first part of the adjacent gallery, our man has an impressive portfolio up its sleeve. A McLaren F1 GTR racecar, Ferrari 250 GTO and 2000s Formula 1 racer are only the crème de la crème of what Bunting snapped over the years. Being a commercial photographer, editing is a big part of the post-production process. In my opinion, even the apparently over-processed pics are bewitching.

Even that simple side profile shot of the Corvette ZR1 has a je ne sais quoi that differentiates an amateur from the type of automotive photographer wanted by all the major companies out there. Heck, Blair’s talent earned him the chance to photograph the awesome Parallax Superbowl commercial contracted by the National Bank of Arizona.

His passion for pointing and shooting a Nikon camera isn’t reserved only for automotive and commercial purposes. Blair got to venture into the realm of aviation photography, masterfully portraying the majesty of the U.S. Air Force’s F-16 Thunderbirds and the F-22 Raptor. Big time stars also make up his portfolio.

All in all, we'd call Blair accomplished even though he describes his life as “quite a random experience.”
