Unlike their counterparts in Europe, who usually get really rather bad cars as their standard-issue transportation, in China all the major automakers make a police version of one (or more) of their cars and bring it to an event called ‘China International Exhibition on Police Equipment’.
At the event, manufacturers try and win over the police forces with their cars, modified for police use. All manner of cars were there, from the VW Tiguan SUV, to the Suzuki Alto and ancient, rebadged SsangYong models. We have to say that all the cars looked rather good with the police stickers on, with special marks going to the Ford Mondeo (which seems perfectly suited for the job), the Chang’an Eado (which is a surprisingly good-looking proposition) and the Lamborghini-Badged Chang’an Jinniuxing.
We would really have liked to attend this event and see all these cars, with police stickers and actual proper equipment and like-minded car nuts to exchange opinions with.
