Autoevolution Users Are Not Thrilled with Norway's Gas Ban

Upon hearing reports that Norway might ban gas vehicles we set to find out what are the users' opinion on the matter, so we used our weekly poll in search of the truth.

In case you missed it, this is what we asked our users: Norway might be the first country to ban gasoline cars. Will this become a trend or is it just a phase?

Judging by the results, we can easily extrapolate that Norway's idea will not be met with overwhelming enthusiasm, to use a mild expression.

Fifty-six (56) percent of the respondents ticked the “No, it's pure nonsense” option, leaving no room for doubt. Still, a surprisingly high percentage, 22%, saw this proposal as the right path. The rest of our users asked themselves “why gasoline and not diesel as well” and we can't blame them. After all, diesel isn't exactly ambrosia.

For those of you who have no idea what we're talking about, here's a quick reminder. Norway has submitted a plan to the country's government which asked for gasoline powered cars to be banned in the country after 2015. The plan was submitted by Socialist Left Party and the country's Finance Minister, Kristin Halvorsen. According to the provisions of this soon to be law, new gasoline powered car sales will no longer be allowed in Norway. Cars already registered will not be affected by the law and neither will be hybrids.

If you are a poll fan and want to express your opinion in any possible matter, be sure to check out our homepage (left side, after a bit of scrolling down) for the latest debate. The next issue we have prepared for you is related to the Fiat-Chrysler fairy tale. What's your opinion? Has Fiat become Chrysler's white knight or is it just a very clever hyena?
