autoevolution Poll: New Mercedes A-Klasse Looks Hot, but Feels Cool

Nearly four years ago, Mercedes considered dropping its smallest offering from the range. A few months back, however, they showed everyone they’ve since had a change of heart. That is when the A-Klasse Concept was introduced to the world, sweeping the audience off their feet. At least, at first glance.

Here at autoevolution, we've been arguing on the subject as well. We decided to give our readers the chance to say how they felt about A-Klasse’s new look and the votes started to pile up instantly.

All said and done, it is now time to let you know what the results are, and I must tell you that there was an extremely tight race between the three options.

Taken separately, the “Oh yeah, it looks like a proper hot hatch” choice won, but only by a small margin, as 44 percent of you went for this one. At the opposite side we have the “Heck no, all practicality is lost” option,
chosen by 23 percent of the voters, while the undecided part of the autoevolution readers - 31 percent - went for “Not sure yet, waiting for official photos”.

In what the brand calls “the first heartbeat of a new generation,” the front-wheel drive A-Klasse Concept patiently awaits to get in production shape and rival the Audi A1 and the BMW 1 Series. Debut for the series version will take place sometime in 2012, so you'd better hurry and make up your mind.

Meanwhile, we're inviting you to have your say in our new poll, which brings the resurrected 550 Spyder to your attention. You can find it on the left side of the site, after a bit of scrolling down.

We also keep records of the results from the previous polls for anyone who's interested.
