In terms of accessories, there’s an ocean that tends to flood our continents of automotive madness. But if there’s something any petrolhead craves for, it has to be revolving around the actual pleasure of driving. And what else can be better than the feeling of a firm grip on the steering wheel gives you?
OK, maybe we’re a little too early with this post. After all, it’s still so hot outside that you almost can’t imagine wearing anything else than the regular trousers along with some pair of flip flops. On the other hand, they all say it’s better to be safe than sorry, so buying the proper car gizmo in advance shouldn’t harm anyone.

In case you haven’t heard of the company, we’ll mention that Autodromo is the brainchild of Bradley Price, an industrial designer who set out to craft unique products that express the spirit of motoring. They have this special something for the golden age of motoring, when driving (like anything else for that matter) required style, panache, and perhaps a little bit of danger.

As you may well observe checking out the photo gallery below, the company’s design philosophy blends a contemporary, minimalist sensibility with mid-century vintage character. It’s one of those small accessory makers that develop everything in-house out of a passion for creating a unique, memorable experience for their customers.

Passion is quite precisely what makes these new collection of gloves stand out. The string back driving glove is not here just for the design, as it’s hinting at the racing pros of the 1950s and 1960s, who would use these to protect their palms from wooden steering wheels. Meanwhile, the driver’s hands would also remain cool and dry while they sped across the countryside.

Available in different sizes and colors, these gloves feature a short, split cuff and have no annoying snaps to do up. With a retail price of $125 a pair, we say it’s an accessory worth considering, especially if you’re one of the vintage car enthusiasts.
