Auto Guide Tests the 2013 Toyota Prius Plug-In’s Mileage

Going by the idea of “the more, the merrier”, Toyota gave the classic Prius three more brothers: the compact MPV Prius v, subcompact hatch c designed for city driving and the Plug-in mid-size model to suit every need.

The 2013 Toyota Prius Plug-in is pretty much like the standard third generation Prius, only that it comes with the possibility to charge its battery while being parked, as the name suggests, and it can offer 11 miles (17.6 km) of zero emission driving in EV mode, perfectly adapted for going places around town if you don’t mess up with the gas pedal.

Another feature of the Plug-in Prius is its Eco/Power modes that will adapt to driving conditions and offer the smallest fuel consumption possible without affecting performance. So if you encounter an open road and push the pedal closer to the floor, the automaker says that you will still achieve 50 mpg (4.7 l/100 km).

Go bellow to see what numbers Auto Guide got after driving one of the Plug-in Hybrids in different conditions.
