Australians to Get Toyota Yaris Edge Limited Edition

Available for sale only for a limited period of time, Yaris ‘Edge’ models have just been announced by Toyota and released on the Australian market. Based on the YR 3-door and 5-door hatch versions, these special edition models come with a $1000 added value for just $500.

The new models are available with a five-speed manual or four-speed automatic transmission, with prices starting from $16,190 for the 3-door Yaris Edge with manual transmission.

The company’s senior executive director sales and marketing David Buttner said Yaris offers its owners all the comfort and features they need. “It also combines chic city style and great fuel economy while being easy to manoeuvre in traffic,” Buttner said.

From the improvements brought to the base model, we can mention the YR 14-inch steel wheels that were replaced with the 15-inch alloys from the more expensive YRX model. Moreover, Toyota upgraded the standard single CD player to a six-stack system with LCD display, Bluetooth telephone and audio streaming capabilities and USB connection.

The Yaris Edge also comes with foglamps, “Edge” branded floor mats with brushed aluminium badging and a special-edition “Edge” soft-metal badge on the tailgate. All Yaris Edge models are offered with an optional $750 safety pack, while the metallic paint option will cost you $300.

Powered by a 1.3-litre four-cylinder engine, Yaris Edge can travel 700 km on regular unleaded from its 42-litre tank, based on the official combined fuel economy of 6.0 litres/100km for the manual version, while the automatic one is just as good in a 646 km range.

Toyota Service Advantage will cover these special edition models, for each of the first six standard scheduled services over three years or 60,000 km, for just $130.
