Australia's Festival of Speed Opens This Weekend

This weekend the Australian city of Perth will host the annual Australian Automobile Club's (AAC) Festival of Speed. This year's event will be headlined by Australia's own F1 star, Mark Webber, in person and on the track.

Webber will be lapping Barbagallo Raceway in an attempt to break the lap record – a pretty sure bet. He will be given three attempts to set the best time in his Red Bull Formula One car. Afterwards he will give a live interview talking about the year he set the pace for the rest of the field in the planet's most watched and expensive motorsport series.

The AAC Festival of Speed is the perfect opportunity to engage in tire-screeching, life-endangering (not that we encourage reckless driving) motor sport action, activities and more peaceful displays across a packed program of events at Barbagallo Race Way on November 28, 2010.

Mark Webber and Red Bull Formula One will be well supported by V8 Super Cars and drivers, Rally Cars, Sport Sedans, Formula Cars, Race Bikes, Street Cars and Historic Racers.

In addition to the exceptional opportunity of witnessing an Australian F1 driver at the top of his game in one of the most innovative vehicles the sport has ever seen, fanatics will see V8 Super Cars and Rally Cars on track and racing across the day. They can also see their dream cars racing in the Super Brand Challenge to determine which brand of performance vehicles is truly the fastest.

This event is positioned as being The Fastest Day or Your Life, and it will be.
