Australia Gets Limited Edition Vespa Scooters

Italian scooter manufacturer Vespa has displayed a couple of new models at last weekend's Melbourne Motorcycle Expo, with the special models being available at nationwide Australian retailers as from now. The GTV 300 “Via Montenapoleone” and GTS 300 “Super Sport” are both limited production models.

The GTS 300 'Super Sport' boasts a racy scooter design, while the GTV 300 'Via Montenapoleone' comes with a number of classic styling cues. “The new GTS 300 Super Sport takes the sporting pedigree of the GTS 300 to the next level,” Vespa says. “The Classic Vespa name of ‘Super Sport’ is fittingly recalled for this uniquely sports orientated Vespa.”

Starting with the GTS 300 Super Sport, the special edition scooter is powered by a Quasar 300cc engine and is finished in unique titanium paint. It also gains a special ribbed seat and has Super Sport badging.

According to Vespa, the "enhanced styling, features and 300cc performance will guarantee that the Super Sport stands out in any crowd." The Super Sport is priced at AU$8,890.

The second limited edition model coming to Australia later in 2010 is the Vespa GTV 300 Via Montenapoleone, named after the famous Milanese fashion street and first shown at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan late last year.

The Vespa GTV 300 Via Montenapoleone (which will retail for AU$9,990) is also powered by a 300cc Quasar engine, and is finished in a unique Nero colour and rides on chrome wheels. Other visual changes include a rear quarter panel vent, a grey trimmed eco leather combination saddle and bold 'Via Montenapoleone' badging.
