Richard Childress Racing driver Austin Dillon has secured pole position for next week’s Daytona 500 in the No. 3 Chevrolet SS, with Martin Truex Jr. (Furniture Row) and Greg Biffle (Roush Fenway) finishing the qualifiers in second and third position respectively.
Wearing the number widely associated with the late Dale Earnhardt, a seven-time NASCAR Spring Cup champion, Dillon took the top spot with a 196-mph (315.4 km/h), 45.914-second lap.

"It's hard to celebrate, because I know this is just qualifying, but it's great for (the team). You never know the next time you'll be standing in this position again. So it's awesome; just want to thank our family back home at RCR. They've done such a good job - fab shop, engine shop, everybody, my guys,” Dillon said.

Here’s the Top 10 grid for the race that’s scheduled on February 23 at Daytona International Speedway.
