August Sales in China Totaling 1.49-Million Units

August marked a 8.4% increase in car sales in China, when compared to the previous month, July. A total of 1.5-million vehicles were manufactured in the PRC in August, marking a growth figure of 7.78% over the previous year and 4.48% higher than the previous month.
According to autonews.gasgoo.com, the SUV sector is the fastest-growing segment in the country, with August sales of 1.27-million units - 30.74% higher than what we were reporting a year ago. Also, the total production figure of vehicles made from January to August totaled 12.48-million, which represents a increase of 4.1%, when compared to last year.

Now, the manufacturer with the highest productivity is SAIC, as the Shanghai-based company managed to build a total of 2.89-million cars in the first 8 months of the year. They are followed by Dongfeng, with 2.09-million, FAW with 1.77-million, Changan with 1.25-million and BAIC with 1.05-million.
