First of all it’s not a gadget, it’s a chair. Secondly, it’s autonomous in the sense that it reads your mind and syncs seamlessly to your work calendar, which lets it know precisely when you’re about to relocate. Last but not least, it’s Audi’s way of greeting you a marry April Fools Day, and you’d better pay attention. That is if you want to have a good laugh for a change.
We’re not sure if it’s got something to do with the season. Maybe it's because we’re transitioning from the freezing winter nights to the warm and flower-flavored spring mornings. It could also be something about today being April Fools Day. Whatever the case, we had been experiencing a very awkward day, with peculiar extreme feelings to it. Here we were happy and in prank mode at the beginning of the day, only to find ourselves switching to boredom hours later.
Maybe it had something to do with the fact almost all the carmakers have been busy doing their best to amuse as, leaving us no spare room to do our jokes. It’s almost like it didn’t feel right anymore; like the ludic-room was overcrowded by Seinfeld-wannabe people. Again, it might be just the Spring weirdness we’re going through, but we felt the need to share this thought with you guys.
As to Audi’s so-called intelligent, powerful and autonomous...prank, we’re looking at a truly anti-fitness, anti-healthy type of life gadget. Just imagine it for a second. Feel like having a snack? The chair will carry you to the fridge before you even made up your mind. Feel like having a glass of water? Seconds later it takes you next to the water cooler. The next thing you know you’re wasting tens of minutes talking about buying a new dog with your colleague who’s chair also took him there.
Give it time and the chair will take you everywhere, no need to do any physical exercise whatsoever. What’s next, a drinking helmet beer hat? Oh, wait, that’s already on the market.
