Audi is set on making 2014 a good year and so, the company decided to take on a collaboration with none other than Google and bring forth the Audi Smart Display tablet. In case you are asking if it can control the car’s features and functions, the answer is “Yes.”
The prototype made its debut at the consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas where technology enthusiasts had the chance to take a look at what it has to offer. According to the guys from Audi, the tablet promises to open up a wealth of new possibilities for networking between the car, its driver and the Internet.

So, this means that drivers as well as passengers can make use of it as the Smart Display can, “ through a secure and stable WLAN interface, and via the very familiar Android operating system, ” connect “seamlessly with the car and enrich it with the state-of-the-art computing and graphics power of its Nvidia Tegra 40 processor.”

Apps for movies, audio books, music and a lot more, are all available for passengers from the Android app store through Google Play. Therefore, you can see that the entertainment part has been fully covered.

Besides the integrated camera for Skype, Bluetooth and other similar features, the Audi tablet also offers the possibility to control the radio, media as well as navigation systems of the vehicle.

All in all, we find it quite interesting, useful and certainly entertaining but we’re still waiting to see how much this little gadget is going to cost.
