If you are among those that took a liking to BMW's laser headlights, let us tell you that Audi has decided on launching a regular production vehicle that will incorporate the particular headlights as well. This comes hot on the tail of the unveiling of a new Sports quattro concept at the Consumer Electronics Show earlier this week, fully equipped with jedi-like lighting technology.
The announcement came directly from Audi’s CEO Rupert Stadler, but he didn’t actually mention what models will come to have the said technology. Therefore, we are definitely in for a surprise.
Talking about surprises, BMW has one in store for Audi as well. IThe rival company also plans on incorporating the laser headlights and they will be available as an option on BMW’s soon to be released i8 hybrid sports cars. Unfortunately, U.S drivers won’t be able to try them out as the technology has not yet been approved there.
Till than, one can still check out the updated version of Audi’s Sport Quattro concept unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show that comes with lasers for its high-beams. Besides this, we’re also looking forward to their 2014 R18 e-tron Quattro race car that will bring the laser light tech on the race track.
