We are glad that Audi decided to grant the TT a new generation, and we're pretty sure TT fanboys had the same feelings. Not to mention the tuners.
Last time our mouths started watering upon seeing a tuned up Audi TT was before the Geneva Auto Show, when ABT dressed the coupé in Gunmetal Gray and blessed it with 310 HP coming from the 2.0-liter turbo powerplant.
Nothing too spectacular, but enough to catch the eye and the ear. Such tuning works would most likely make owners forget they paid more than on a new A5 for their TT, but that's another story.
For new, we'd like to focus on a particular Audi TTS that was lucky enough to receive the HG-Motorsport treatment. Just as with the ABT-tuned TT, changes are not dramatic, at least not under the hood.
Power output went up by 26 HP to 336 HP while maximum torque was increased by 47 Nm (34 lb-ft) to (314 lb-ft). Although HG-Motorsport has no info on acceleration time, the 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo plant should be no pushover in urban duels held between two traffic lights.
On the outside, the overall appearance reminds us of Jon Olsson's pimped out Audi RS6. Other than that, the Audi TT received an upgraded intercooler and a carbon fiber air box with a Pipercross filter.
Also, Bull-X provided the EGO-X stainless steel exhaust system with a 3.5-inch downpipe. Other goodies include KW coil-over suspension and 20-inch Schmidt FS-Line alloy wheels with Hankook S1 Evo tires, details that make the coupé look like an ultra badass army sergeant.
