Take this with a small grain of salt, but it seem Audi wants to show a second new TT in Paris, besides the roadster. This sketch of a four-door coupe has just hit the web and claims its the real deal, an internal drawing of a four-door coupe concept. The car shown in Paris is just a preview to gauge people's reactions and you can definitely tell from the sketch, which has flush door handles.
A few weeks ago, Audi development chief Ulrich Hackenberg hinted that the company will add a third TT body type. However, this was interpreted as a production version of the TT offroad concept shown in Beijing earlier this year. At the time of the rumor, we said making the coupe into a crossover would ruin all its best traits –compact, light and dynamic – and that a four-door coupe would be preferable.
The rendering has so far not been confirmed by Audi. In fact it's only available on German auto website Auto Zeitung. If it's to be believed, the TT Sportback would walk down the same path as the A5 Sportback and A7 before it. Technically a 5-door, not a 4-door, access to its boot would be made though a large lift gate, like a hatchback.
The four-door body is said to be 29 centimeters (11.4 inches) longer than on the regular TT, making the Sportback variant about the size of an A3 Limousine/Sedan. The concept is reportedly also lower by 3 centimeters (1.2 inches) and much wider.
Update: It seems the four-door Audi TT is very real. More renderings have emerged and show both front and rear end designs. The single Murky shot of the cabin shows a large red button indicative a potential e-tron sport hybrid drivetrain under the bonnet.
