Audi TT-RS Gets Hybrid Turbocharger from LOBA Motorsport

The Audi TT RS is about to receive an extreme engine tuning package that will bring it into a totally new performance league.

The power kit comes from LOBA Motorsport is currently working on a sports turbocharger for Audi’s 2.5 liter turbo five-cylinder engine found on the car.

The charger promises to boost the power past the 500 hp mark. However, the exact power rating is not known yet. The unit is based on a BorgWarner KKK version and has been optimized by LOBA Motorsport. The latter company’s engineers have made extensive modification in order to reach this kind of power boost and offer a reliable product.

Here are the complete technical specifications of the turbocharger:

  • Custom "Extended Tip" compressor wheel(State-of-the-art compressor wheel geometry(Compressor wheel inlet (wheel): 54.6 mm(Compressor wheel outlet (wheel): 70.5 mm
  • 5-axis CNC modified compressor housing and inner surface for optimum flow in intake and exhaust areas
  • XX grinded runner (wheel) to help increase the flow capacity and reduce exhaust back pressure
  • Optimized clearances
  • Modified actuator
  • Reinforced axial bearing
  • Balancing of single parts and the basic unit

We’ll remind you that the factory stock version of the TT RS (the car is offered as a coupe or a roadster) uses a powerplant that features FSI direct gasoline injection, delivering 340 hp and a maximum torque of 450 Nm. The 2.5 liter unit manages to produce this impressive figure while returning a fuel efficiency of 25.5 mpg (9.2 liters per 100 km).The power is sent to the road via Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system.
