Audi Teases Six, Yes 6 RS Models Which Will Debut in 2019

While Tesla can get away with launching a new car every few years and sometimes missing deadlines, the German automakers usually like to make their lineup feel as new as possible. Audi today released a blacked-out teaser for no less than six RS-badged models which will debut by the end of 2019, at least when the European market is concerned.

The RS badge is only applied to the best of the best, unlike its M or AMG counterparts. That's why there's no RS8 sedan, so we know all six of these cars are red-hot. But what are they?

Starting from the left, catch the silhouette of the next-gen RS6. This has been spied testing around the Nurburgring many times since 2018, and unlike the S6 series will resist the urge to downsize. Under the hood is a 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8, most likely paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system.

When it comes to horsepower, our best guess is 420 kW, which is equivalent to 571 HP in Europe and 563-horsepower in America. The second bad boy is the RS7 Sportback, closely related to the Avant in terms of technology, wrapped in sexy bodywork.

The middle two have the same headlights, but with different roof sizes, so we must be dealing with the new RS Q3 and RS Q3 Sportback. They are powered by the familiar 2.5 TFSI 5-cylinder, with rumors putting the output at 420 HP, 20 more than the current RS3.

The last black shape in the roster is clearly the biggest, so it must be the RS Q8, probably the one that will grab all the headlines. Again, we suspect its output is 571 HP, but a performance or competition optional package could take it to 605 HP, essentially matching the upcoming X5 M and GLE 63 S.

And that leaves us with mystery car No.5 that should be the RS4 Avant. It's not new, but a mid-life facelift will add new headlights and bumpers to a model that came out in 2017.
