India has not materialized into the same huge auto market that China has become. Sales actually slumped in different sectors and there's no India-only long wheelbase sedan that's selling like hotcakes there. The luxury market is by no means booming, but through local assembly Audi has managed to secure its foothold, being the first company to sell 10,000 luxury automobiles in a year there.
The next part of the German automaker's plan is to go after more compact car sales. The third generation A3 has also been developed into a sedan that they believe is perfect for India. It will be shown for the first time next month at the 2014 Auto Expo and will soon also be available, probably through locally assembled CKDs.
Besides the A3 sedan, Audi will also show special edition Q3, Q5 and Q7 models, plus the RS7 performance four-door coupe.
