At about the same time with the unveiling of the Sportback variant of the e-tron SUV, Audi customers in Europe are treated with a bettered flavor of the one year-old electric SUV, now offered with a bit more range and a special, S line-crafted exterior package.
The e-tron SUV, as is the case with the coupe variant, comes in two versions, dubbed in Audi speak 50 and 55, both quattro. The main difference between the two is the size of the battery, hence the maximum range they can achieve.

The larger battery fitted on the 55, rated at 95 kWh, is aided by an energy recuperation system that until now was capable of giving the SUV a reach of up to 248 miles (400 km) on a single charge. By carefully tuning the software and by adding a new type of wheel brake, the Germans have now increased that to 271 miles, or 436 km.

The new variant will be replacing the existing 55 with immediate effect, and the model is already on sale on the European market. Which is kind of a bummer for the people who have just received their e-tron. The news is even more annoying for recent buyers of the car as pricing remains unchanged, at €80,900.

Audi did not say when the improvements will be making it across the ocean.

To twist the knife even further, Audi is now offering a S lina package for the e-tron, which is sure to make it look more aggressive-looking than before.

It comprises things like 20-inch wheels, a different bumper with bigger air curtains, S emblems all around, and body-color attachments across the board - wheel arch trims, door sills, bumpers and exterior mirrors.

Oh, and there’s also a sport air suspension.

All the changes made by Audi to the e-tron line can be found in the press release section below.
