As part of the agreement, several Audi vehicles will be handed to the members of the Federation. Aside from company cars (provided to athletes, coaches and officials), the athletes will also receive new clothing for the new season from the DSV’s suppliers.
“With the World Championship being held in our own country, the season is a very special one for our alpine athletes,” said Peter Schwarzenbauer, member of the Audi management board for Marketing and Sales. “I wish all athletes lots of success on their way to Garmisch and a preparation for the season’s pinnacle without any injuries.”
Audi will become the Presenting Sponsor of the alpine Ski World Championship, an event which will be held in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in February next year. “In the World Cup, the Olympics or in World Championships our skiing aces are equally successful and personable representatives of Germany. We are happy to be supporting them again in the next two years,” added Schwarzenbauer.
If you are curious what cars Audi provided for the German athletes, here's a quick sum-up: slalom expert Felix Neureuther, biathlon star Michael Greis and cross-country skier Evi Sachenbacher-Stehle received each an Audi A4 Avant, while Kathrin Holzl and Maria Riesch opted for an Audi RS5 and an Audi RS6.
