Audi Signs New Sponsors in the DTM

Following their continuous success in the German DTM series, Audi was approached by several new sponsors for the 2010 campaign of the championship. And, in tough economic times such as these, the German carmaker could not have turned down the offers of some valuable partners, such as Tabac Original, TV Movie and the Schaeffler Group.

According to a press release from Audi, the aforementioned three partners will be all-new for the German team. As far as TV Movie is concerned, the Bauer Media Group brand is no stranger from sponsorship commitments inside the sporting world, as they are currently partnering Bavarian football team FC Bayern Munich.

Schaeffler Group will actually make a return to sponsoring Audi inside the motor racing world, through its INA, LuK and FAG brands.

That we will have such renowned partners on board underscores the attractiveness of the Audi brand and the high caliber of the DTM. Anyone who invests in sport sponsoring today rightly has very high expectations of their investment. With Audi, partners are in good hands in this regard,” said Siegfried Krause, Head of Partnerships at Audi Sport, in a statement.

However, not all of these sponsors will feature on each and every car through the 2010 season of the DTM, as individual branding will be applied to each of the 9 Audi A4s fielded by the German carmaker in the series.

Therefore, “the Tabac Original colors will be featured on the Audi A4 DTM driven by Oliver Jarvis. TV Movie determines the branding of Alexandre Premat’s A4. The LuK logo will be emblazoned on Mattias Ekstrom’s car and the INA logo on the Audi driven by Mike Rockenfeller.
