If you want turbos for your RS4 or wish to turn your R8 into a race car by installing a supercharger, Mcchip-DKR can hook you up. Of course the Audi S8 has already been pushed hard by Audi's quattro GmbH division, but that doesn't mean further development isn't possible.
If we understand correctly, this car started out as an S8 Plus, which means it had 605 horsepower, nearly as much as the R8 V10 plus, and 750 Nm of torque. That's a lot for a gasoline 4.0-liter engine. It's not easy to get more from that small of a displacement, but not impossible either.
So, let the amazing work begin! The factory exhaust system has been replaced by something special made by Capristo. Have you ever seen the underside of an S8? It's amazing to think this is similar to an A8 which can be powered by a regular diesel with just over 200 horsepower. The package includes custom headers that help the V8 breath a little easier and wider downpipes. We have to admit, the stuff Brabus does is a bit more impressive, but Mcchip is a company worth watching out for.
The stage 3 tuning kit also consists of a new ECU and high-performance turbos. It's pretty cool to see the 4.0 TFSI with its engine cover taken off and mid-mounted turbo system showing. Ferrari uses turbos on either side of its V8s, but the inner-V setup is a sexy one.
Sadly, the updated S8 has not been tested to show what it can do from 0 to 100 km/h, but we suspect its speed is nearing that of a Lamborghini Aventador. That's nice, considering it's got the room for four people to stretch their legs.
On the dyno, this all-wheel drive rocket has proven that it delivers 789 horsepower and 927 Nm of torque. Like we said, Brabus pulls crazier engines, but for a 4-liter, we are impressed with what this Audi has achieved.
