The Audi A1 is based on the Architecture of the VW Polo, and some might say that it’s as hot as its Polo GTI brother when fitted with the 1.4-liter. However, there’s an even hotter car called the A1 quattro, which proved there’s a market for an extreme supermini built by Audi.
Unfortunately, the A1 quattro is a limited production car of which only 333 will ever be built, and its price is in the same range as some true sportscars, so it’s a car built just for the Audi fans.

Now though, Ingolstadt is working on an S1 judging by the fact that this prototype was spotted testing a quad tailpipe exhaust setup.

It’s also got a coop body kit and a set of massive 18-inch wheels.

Power is expected to come from a 2.0-liter TFSI with somewhere between 220 and 250 horsepower. quattro all-wheel drive also looks very likely.
