The new RS4 and RS5 are hits in "stock" form, thanks to the multitude of options offered by Audi themselves. However, there's always room for improvement, and Capristo Automotive tried to exploit this with a carbon fiber body kit.
Capristo Exhaust Systems GmbH is famous from Maranello to Monaco thanks to their awesome muffler systems. However a small catalog of body kits is also offered, and the RS5 B9 is the latest target.
The focal point is the front end of the car, where a new chin spoiler has been installed. This seems normal from the front, but when viewed from the top reveals a pointy GT350-like appearance. Smaller side winglets have been designed for that DTM look. What's interesting is how closely this design follows Audi's.
Highlighting the power of the RS5's 450 horsepower 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6, Capristo also fitted a carbon engine cover and air intake. It brings a certain je ne sais quoi, but we'd skip it and save some money. Down the sides, the skirts have been targetted with carbon, while the back features a new diffuser flanked by that trademark double oval exhaust system.
This bright demo car appears to be wrapped in yellow, lowered on sports springs and fitted with 21-inch wheels. Could this be a Paris debut? This is just Capristo's in-house work, but other tuners could take this body kit and combine it with their work.
Weirdly, there's no mention of any engine mods or aftermarket exhaust. Maybe the stainless guy is on vacation this year. In any case, the RS5 has already been taken to 575 horsepower by MTM. As far as we know, that's the highest anybody has come without changing too many V6 internals. We've added a video of the custom coupe in question below. See if that gets your pulse racing!
