The Dubai police are famous around the world for its fleet of awesome supercars that includes the latest Ferrari, Lamborghini or McLaren models. It's a great way to grab headlines and draw attention to the job the guys in blue/black/brown are doing. However, Australia doesn't want to be left behind and just added the Audi RS4 Avant to its fleet.
The Lake Illawarra Local Area Command of the New South Wales Police Force has just received a brand new Audi RS5 Avant. The unusual livery that covers it was designed by the Facebook fans of Audi Australia's page and includes the social media accounts of the NSW police.

The bad news is that the current generation of the RS4 Avant just went out of production, so we're unlikely to hear about it from now on. The super-wagon made by the quattro division is powered by a 4.2-liter FSI engine that delivers 450 hp to all four wheels. It's seriously rapid, despite its age, and has defeated the twin-turbocharged Mercedes-AMG C63 Estate in a recent track battle.

Kids, don't do drugs! Drugs are bad, mmkay?

The bad news is that all the awesome performance will go waste, as the Lake Illawarra Local Area Comand will use the RS4 during several youth engagement programs and a symbol for the community. So you won't see the Australian Starsky & Hutch cuffing hooligans over the bonnet of an RS model.

“The RS 4 Avant is the perfect vehicle to support the NSW Police Force in their youth engagement programs,” said Andrew Doyle, Managing Director of Audi Australia. "It commands presence on the road, thanks to its muscular engine and striking looks. The design chosen by our Audi Australia Facebook fans amplifies the RS 4’s dynamic shape to round off what is a remarkably imposing stance.

Audi officials have hinted the next RS4 will arrive "sooner than expected" and may come to the US under the guise of an RS5 four-door coupe. Rumor has it that the 4.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 will be replaced by a 2.9-liter biturbo V6 producing slightly less power.
