Audi RS3, A45 AMG and BMW M2 Go Up Against HSV Clubsport in Australia

Some auto magazines have tested the against the equally impressive Ford Focus RS. Others have tried to see if a front-wheel drive hatchback like the CHonda Civic Type R still has a chance against these mighty motors. One of our favorite reviews compares the M2 against the M4. However, the Australians have something even more powerful that's just as cheap.

The HSV Clubsport is not the sort of car Europeans would like and Americans can't buy one either. However, Mercedes used to make 6.3-liter monsters just like this one, before they got tangled up in twin turbochargers.

There is no clearly drawn out conclusion to this auto review by Drive.com.au. We just learn what the editors prefer and watch the four vehicles compete in a straight line. Considering we've seen just about every important drag race made all year, we also can't help but contest the results of the straight-line race, as many quarter mile events have found the A45 to be slightly faster.

What's more, the massive and impressive comparison organized by Auto Trader came to the conclusion the A45 is a more dynamic and fun car than the RS3 (take that from an Audi fan).

The BMW M2 is undeniably going to become a cult car, just as Drive suggested. Production is tight; the performance is awesome, and everything stays right to the BMW M core philosophy, which is more than you can say about the A45. But the fact that you can buy a 400 kW V8 muscle sedan for the same money in Australia is quite impressive. How much is that? Why, only 544 hp.
