Audi RS Q3 Gets 410 HP from ABT, Is Still Ugly

Now that the second generation Audi TT is going out of production, the only way to get a cheap-ish RS model and a 2.5-liter engine is going to be buy this car, the RS Q3. It's the very first RS badge fitted to a crossover SUV, but Audi did not put its best foot forward when launching it, offering the hot Q3 with less power than any similarly engined Audi.Tuning to the rescue!

ABT Sportsline, a famous tuner of Audis and VWs, has just announced a powerful range of upgrades meant to increase the appeal of the crossover in a number of ways. The biggest is obviously adding more power. That comes via sports exhaust and an ECU remap which bump up the 2.5 TFSI from a wave to a 410 PS tsunami. Torque is also increased by 110 Nm, from 420Nm (310 lb-ft) to 530Nm (391 lb-ft).

Before we tell you what the did to the body, we must first explain what was wrong with the RS Q3 in the first place. You see, RS models are supposed to have oval pipes on both sides, but this had only one. ABT installed a brand new set of breathers with four lovely chromed trips for maximum impact.

21-inch wheels with 255/30 R21 tires, a full body kit, a really strange black grille in typical ABT style and even reworked interior are available for maximum impact.

Of course, these are all individual parts which you will be able to order for your RS Q3. We'd steer well clear of the grille and bumper inserts, keeping the factory fresh look. But the quad pipes a la BMW X5 M perk up the rear of the car and are a must.

Look for the brash tri-colored RS Q3 on ABT's stand at the Geneva Motor Show.
