When Audi launched the Q3 crossover in 2011, you'd have never thought there would ever be anything significant about it. It's built on the PQ35 platform used by the old Golf and A3, so it's not exactly born from amazing stuff.
However, they've just begun full production of this, the RS Q3, which is the very first RS model in their crossover range. As you probably know already, it's powered by the 2.5-liter TFSI engine you got in the RS3. However, it only has 310 PS, not the full 360 that's available for this engine.
The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds and onto a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). We found a few videos to show you what that's like in real life, plus a new walkaround video from Frankfurt. What's the point? Well, the RS Q3 is actually the cheapest RS model you can buy, cheaper than the TT version. Some people want the raised driving position and more off-road capabilities, and we suspect they're going to ship over 10,000 per year.
