It’s always funny to see how automakers try their best to make a normal but new car sound and look like it’s something else. This time, it was Audi’s turn to highlight a model which, despite it’s somewhat bland appearance, makes market sense and should sell well: the new Q3 compact SUV.
The three videos in question come from Audi of America’s Youtube channel, and highlight the vehicle’s design, overall space and mobility. There’s not much in the way of computer graphics or silly themes, just the baby of the Q range, some explanations and some shiny shots of both the interior and exterior.
“The interior of Audi's latest model is very roomy; its ergonomics and its workmanship are exemplary. Just as for the exterior, customers have many opportunities to express their very own style in the interior: Audi offers a wide selection of materials and colors. The luggage compartment offers 460 to 1,365 liters (16.24 to 48.2 cu ft) of capacity - ideal for sports and leisure,” the German carmaker says.
The Q3 features your typical high-quality Audi interior with a clean lines and seating for five. The luggage compartment offers a capacity of 460-liters (16.24 cubic feet), but it can swell to a volume of 1,365 liters (48.2 cubic feet) with the split rear seat backrests folded down.
The new compact SUV is built on the same chassis as the VW Tiguan and it will be offered at launch with pair of gasoline engines and a single TDI unit, with a second diesel to appear later on. All four of the four-cylinder engines will have a displacement of 2.0-liters.
In Europe, the new Q3, which will be manufactured at Seat’s plant near Barcelona, Spain, will go on sale in June with a base price in Germany of €29,900 ($43,300 at today’s exchange rates).
