By all accounts, the Audi R8 Spyder should be a bad car. It’s got more weight, thanks to bracing added to keep the body from flexing in the absence of a roof, and rides on 20% softer springs so as not to alert you to the lost rigidity.
However, what you end up with is a 5.2-liter V10 concerto of pure Lambo-like ecstasy on a lot less money than the Gallardo.
For Canadian tuners SR Auto, this was the ideal starting point to create Project Speed Walker, which starts with PUR 4OUR Monoblock 20-inch wheels and ties everything together with a carbon fiber bow.
The V10 heart of the R8 is tweaked with a new carbon fiber air intake, a Miltek exhaust system, both tuned to work in combination with an APR ECU update.
Inside the Spyder, SR has used a PPI carbon fiber steering wheel, as well as MA Carbon center console and shift circle.
