If you're not a fan of Manga, then you may not know much about the Final Fantasy series. However, even if you're not, this franchise is so big, you must have heard its name at least once in your lifetime.
I will admit to only playing the seventh installment in what feels like ages ago (and, considering the graphics it had, that's probably pretty exact), but there are a lot of people who have been eagerly waiting for this latest game in the series.

Final Fantasy XV is getting released later this month, and apart from the stand-alone game, you can also get it in various special edition packages, culminating with a $270 Ultimate Collector's Edition. That name is a bit deceiving, though, as the truly 'ultimate' way in which you can celebrate the launch of the new game in your favorite series is an actual Audi R8 'Star of Lucis.'

The car was first featured in the CGI movie "Kingsglaive Final Fantasy XV," which acted as a prequel to the game. Spotting the opportunity for something completely crazy, Square Enix, the game's developer, talked to the troubled Germans at Audi and decided to make a real-life version of the supercar.

To the unaware eye, the R8 isn't as instantly recognizable as you might expect. The list of modifications includes a special set of wheels with the Lucis emblem, a pattern design featured on the front side grille elements and side panels, and a Ultrossic Black paint. Apart from that, the $470,000 supercar is as standard as they come.

It does seem a little crazy to expect people to pay this kind of money on what is essentially an Audi R8 with a bit of wrapping and a fancy set of wheels, but this is Japan we're talking about, so we're sure the car will have plenty of suitors, even though it costs close to half a million dollars.

However, just to add insult to injury, getting it won't simply be a matter of turning up with the money ready. Expecting to have more than just one die-hard fan willing to part with this kind of money, Square Enix will organize a raffle on November 21, the launch date for the game. Those interested can register on Audi Japan's website. Just make sure to save some money to buy the game as well, because it's not included. God help us all.
